On September 20, on the slopes of Europe’s highest active volcano, U-Theatre will lead a Mindful Walk: a meditative walk accompanied by the deep pulse of drums and the living presence of the landscape.

This will be an intimate and contemplative event, reserved for a limited audience invited to share a unique experience of listening, silence, and total immersion in nature.
The connection with the volcano’s breath and the ritual quality of movement make this walk a central moment in the entire project.
U-Theatre’s Mindful Walk blends spiritual practice and Zen culture. For the group, walking mindfully is an artistic act and a form of inner cultivation: every step, gesture, and sound aligns with the environment, transforming the landscape into a stage and time into presence.
A site-specific and immersive project, this Etna chapter is designed exclusively for the Sicilian context, intertwining spirituality, landscape, and intercultural dialogue.
It offers a one-of-a-kind experience, speaking to the worlds of theater, Eastern philosophy, ritual sound, and the deep relationship between body, sound, and territory.

The artists of the company will emerge silently from the Etnean landscape, with simple yet powerful movements, merging martial arts, dance, and percussion using traditional instruments such as hand-held gongs, drums, and temple gongs.
The sound begins like a tremor in the earth, expands like wind and rain, and finally dissolves into silence—steady and grounded like a mountain.
